Today’s posting of the “JFK Facts” blog on Substack by Jefferson Morley leaves me surprised. I have never met Mr. Morley but we have mutual friends, I like his blog, and I have respected his commitment to the facts. I would have just commented on today’s post but “JFK Facts” only permits comments by paid subscribers.
In the subtitle to today’s posting Mr. Morley writes, “The accused assassin admired JFK and denied killing him. He was telling the truth.” Wow…
If Oswald “was telling the truth,” then how do we explain the factual evidence collected by the Dallas Police on 22 and 23 November 1963?
Oswald denied killing Officer Tippit. But, several eyewitnesses saw Oswald murder Tippit in cold blood. The murder weapon was on Oswald’s person when he was arrested. That murder weapon had been purchased by A.J. Hidell but delivered to the PO Box registered to Oswald. A forged photographic ID found on Oswald’s person when he was arrested proved that Alex James Hidell was an alias used by Oswald.
Oswald denied ever owning any rifle. But on the afternoon of 22 November his wife admitted that he did own a sniper rifle which was supposed to be in the garage; it was missing. A photograph of Oswald holding that sniper rifle was discovered with an inscription on the back in Oswald’s handwriting. His wife later admitted that she had taken the photo seven months earlier prior to Oswald’s assassination attempt on former Army General Edwin Walker.
Oswald denied that he killed the President. But the sniper rifle he had denied owning was found on the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository and had fired three shots at the President. That sniper rifle had likewise been purchased by A.J. Hidell but delivered to the PO Box registered to Oswald.
If Mr. Morley was on a jury and presented with these facts how would he vote, guilty or not guilty?
And, on it goes...Looking forward to your January post.
